4 Snowy Vacation Destinations That Will Take Your Breath Away

Whether you’re a casual skier or an Olympic athlete, there’s no denying that nothing beats a winter vacation on the slopes. Skiing is one of the most popular outdoor activities in the world, and it’s not hard to see why: You can get fit while also enjoying some of the most breathtaking views in nature.

Besides being out in nature, the best part about skiing is that you don’t need to be anywhere near snow-covered mountains to enjoy it—many ski resorts are located just outside major cities like New York City and San Francisco.

But if you want to go all out and live up every bit of that wintry wonderland feel, grab your Wildhorn ski helmets and get ready because here are four places where you can have a fantastic ski vacation any time of year:

1 – Crystal Mountain, Washington

Crystal Mountain is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Pacific Northwest. It’s located in Washington State, in the Cascade Mountains. The resort is open year-round and can be accessed via its five gondolas.

If you’re looking for affordable lodging options while on vacation, regardless of the type of accommodation, every room includes access to an indoor pool, sauna, fitness center, games room, and more, you can find it here.

2 – Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia

Whistler Blackcomb is a ski resort in British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest ski resort in North America and home to three mountains: Whistler, Blackcomb, and Peak 2 Peak Gondola. The town of Whistler sits at the base of Whistler Mountain and boasts some of the best accommodations for tourists visiting this incredible destination.

The resort was built on land once owned by the Lil’wat First Nation people, but today it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors annually from all over the world. The area offers many outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and fishing!

3 – The French Alps

The French Alps is excellent for families, friends, and couples. The area has a lot to offer in terms of activities and entertainment. There are many different ski resorts where you can enjoy the snow and have fun with your friends or family. In addition, you can go on hiking tours, horseback riding, skiing, or other winter sports that will keep you occupied during your stay here.

4- Mount Hutt, New Zealand

New Zealand is a top-rated destination for skiers and snowboarders, with its varied terrain, proximity to Australia, and competitive lift ticket prices. Mount Hutt is the largest ski area on the South Island.

The resort is located within one hour of Christchurch Airport but feels like a world away from civilization. So it’s easy to see why this area attracts so many visitors: there are two base lodges with restaurants and bars where you can relax after your day on the slopes; stunning views of surrounding mountains; plenty of beginner slopes for those learning how to ski or snowboard; some challenging runs for experienced riders; and plenty of intermediate terrains to explore as well—all without having to travel too far from town.

  • Not been to any of these ski resorts, but your post certainly made me think I should probably change that. Having grown up in Bavaria, a stone’s throw away from the Bavarian and Austrian Alps, I usually went skiing every other weekend when I grew up. You are right: it’s hard to beat a skiing holiday.
